Interested in becoming a doula?

Becoming a birth and/or a postpartum doula is a wonderful, meaningful career.

As a birth doula, you will provide physical, emotional and informational support to mothers and their partners during the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period. You will learn the importance of emotional support, hands-on comfort measures, common interventions used, as well as supporting the mother and partner during cesarean birth, postpartum issues, and breastfeeding.

Kathy Stewart will bring her knowledge from working as a certified pediatric nurse for 40 years, an IBCLC, a birth and postpartum certified DONA doula and trainer. She has been training doulas since 2002 in 10 different US states and two European countries (Germany and England). Kathy's workshops are very interactive, personable, fun, and educational. She will support you throughout your certification journey.

 Are you a military spouse interested in a portable career as a doula?

You may be able to use MyCAA Scholarship funds to pay for your training.

Military spouses who wish to register for Doula training using MyCAA scholarship funds should contact ABP Doula Training Center to discuss all the course options. Before starting your online application, you will need to receive an acceptance letter from the training center which contains all the requirements for certification, course codes, and cost of each training.
